  Can a JW sell to a church?

  could an individual jw business owner do that?.

  these days my jw past stay safely under wraps from nearly everyone.. i dont dig it up- and i see no need to talk about it with anyone.. sometimes i feel as if my past is a large and terrible secret, and i will be found out eventually.

  people can sense i am different.

  i never talk about my family.. i guess people chalk it up to being a private person or let me be a mystery.. however, there is one thing that i feel completely reveals me as having been raised a jehovahs witness:.

  One thing of many - i can't remember to say Bless You when someone sneezes. Around here, people say it even if the sneezer is a stranger to them. So i get the funny looks for not saying it.

  The problem with him classifying the child abuse as minor is that it minimizes what others have had to endure. Children lose their innocence and their trust, even if not physically damaged by the event. It is horrific and it is always ABUSE.

  Hortensia! Here where I am it was a good day - my favorite music group released a new CD today (the Steep Canyon Rangers) - but anyway, my dearest friend came home from town and told me about the run-in with a JW we used to be in frequent contact with. One of your true pushy, insistent, never let you go once her teeth had a good hold of you, know it all, smarter than thou, tiresome, exBethelite born-in - you know the type.

  Well she got told, we have quit going to meetings and her precious organization is no better than any other religion. "Oh," she says, "Did someone stumble you?"

  LOL

  She got told, we've never been happier than since quitting that pedophile-protecting, hypocritical, lying, greedy, manipulative organization. And that was the end.

  OH man, I laughed and laughed. It was a great story. I remember everybody always walked on eggshells around her for years, she just got her way about everything, she was so intimidating! Well, not this time, YEAH!

  My Walmart encounter with the dubs today

  yup, there were 3 of them camped out in front of the store with their display of materials - first time i've seen them there.

  he said he converted 5 years ago from the presbyterians, and that he had learned more in 1 year with the jws than all his time with the presbyterians (the usual stuff, jesus died on a stake, paradise earth, etc).

  he claimed he didn't know about the invisible return of jesus, he was dismissive of the impact of disfellowshipping and that people can leave with little consequence, he claimed that the romans didn't use a cross until 200 years after jesus died on the stake.

  Side point apropos of nothing - they are right, it is HARD WORK to stay united with Jehovah's people - exhausting, actually. And that bit about having love among themselves - they are probably just kidding.

  I had NO idea about the letter to Hitler......

  this was brand new to me........did some research, like we're not supposed to do ;) and dug up crazy stuff that i had no idea about.

  my whole life we were taught have bad and evil "christendom" was for trying to pacify hiter during his rise to power, and how different we were for standing up to him!.

  then i found about the letter dated june 25,1933 from rutherford and his writting team to hiter.

  Disfellowshiping: Why the Terror?

  the more i read about ritual shunning and disfellowshiping in the society, the more i wonder how the governing body and elders have pulled the proverbial wool over the eyes of the congregation.

  first, the society doesnt consider itself a church (unlike the ancient christians, who did consider themselves to be part of a church).

  yet, like other sectarians, they have their hands out for contributions and exercise immense power over their members.

  Perry, you said the familial bonds are the WT's real currency - you really expressed it well, i would not have ever thought of it like that, but it is so true. If we tow the line.

  IF you can FIND the line, --really there are hundreds of lines to tow, every little authoritarian wants to push their weight around and make themselves feel superior and bulldoze somebody for something. Just when you think you found all the land mines ten others blow up in your face.
